Administrative Officer - Public Sector  |  Belfast 

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Administrative Officer to join a busy Public Sector team in Belfast. This role offers valuable experience within a professional healthcare setting, supporting colleagues, patients and key administrative functions on a daily basis.
 
About the role:
  • £12.75 per hour
  • Full time, hours to be agreed on appointment
  • Location, Emergency Department, RVH Belfast
  • Temporary positions until 30th September 2026

What you'll be doing in this role:
  • Provide a high level of clerical support, hospitality, minor maintenance, stores and general tidiness. 
  • Provide an effective customer service.
  • Meet and greet patients on arrival to the Department in a professional and courteous manner and provide any relevant information required.
  • Communicate effectively within the multi-disciplinary team, ensuring that patient’s needs are known.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe, clean and tidy environment, which includes monitoring the environment and equipment.
  • Ensure patients are kept informed of any delays in their treatment, admission or discharge.
  • Ensure effective participation in the patient liaison process including effective management of the process.
  • Undertake other duties as required to ensure the department is welcoming, efficient, comfortable, and meets the needs of individual patients.
What you'll need for this role:
  • 4 GCSEs at Grades A-C / 9-4 including English or English Language (excluding English Literature) or equivalent / higher qualification AND 1 years’ experience in a clerical / administrative role.
  • OR 2 years' experience in clerical/administration role
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft office products including Word, or equivalent.
  • Effective communication skills to meet the needs of the post in full.
  • The ability to work in a pressurised environment to meet the needs of the service.
  • Please note role is subject to Enhanced Access NI Clearance
