Finance Officer - Downpatrick - South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust
Join South Easter Health and Social Care Trust in Downpatrick as a Finance Officer and play a key part in providing a wide range of administrative tasks to support/assist in the effective and efficient provision of services within a Finance & Estates Department.
About the role:
- £12.75 per hour
- Monday to Friday
- 37.5 hours a week
- Location: Downshire Hospital, Downpatrick
- Temporary role until 30th September 2026

What you'll be doing in this role:
- Contribute to the Trusts overall Financial Governance Framework.
- Ensuring financial information is processed in accordance with policies and procedures within prescribed timescales.
- Investigate queries from range of stakeholders and provide assistance and information to both financial and non-financial people as and when required.
- Maintain and assist with various reconciliations of control accounts.
- Assist compliance with Public Sector Prompt Payment Policy.
- Provide high quality administrative support to respective service area ensuring the effective operation of systems and procedures.
What you'll need for this role:
- 4 GCSEs Grades A-C including English & Maths or equivalent and 1 years relevant experience. OR,
- 2 years relevant experience. (Relevant experience is defined as experience of working with computerised financial systems in a busy finance office).
- ECDL Advanced Level or in depth experience and knowledge of Microsoft Packages including Word or equivalent.
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment. (This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport approved by the Trust which will permit them to carry out the duties of the post).
- As part of the Recruitment & Selection process it may be necessary to carry out an Enhanced Disclosure Check through Access NI before any appointment to this post can be confirmed.
