Medical Secretary - Belfast
 
Join a team in Belfast as a Medical Secretary and play a key role in providing Administrative and Clerical support to a busy team managing medical operations. 
 
About the role:
  • £12.75 per hour
  • College Gardens, Belfast
  • 18.75 hours over 5 mornings per week, 9 AM – 12.45 PM.
  • Public sector
  • Temporary role for 3 months initially

What you'll be doing in this role:
  • Appointment booking / Room Booking.
  • Typing letters / Audio Typing
  • Reception / telephony cover.
  • Discharging patients from staff caseloads.
  • Updating Patient’s electronic file with any relevant information.
  • Working on Encompass system / managing work queues.
  • Any other ad hoc duties. Minute taking. Meeting attendance. 
What you'll need for this role:
  • RSA / OCR Stage II Text Processing Part I and Part II (Word Processing / Typewriting) or equivalent. OR,
  • 3 years secretarial / admin experience.
  • Four GCSE's Grade C/4 or above (to include English Language) or equivalent and 2 years’ secretarial / administrative experience. OR,
  • NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration and 2 years’ secretarial / administrative experience. OR,
  • 3 years’ secretarial / administrative experience. OR,
  • AMSPAR and 2 years secretarial/ administrative experience.
  • Ability to identify problems and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word & Excel.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
  • Effective Planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload.
  • Hold a full UK driving license and have access to own vehicle. (Where disability prohibits driving, this criteria will be waived if the applicant is able to organise suitable alternative arrangements).
  • As part of the reference checking and vetting process for this position you will be requested to undertake a Basic AccessNI Disclosure. Having a criminal record will not necessarily be a bar to obtaining a position.
