Antrim & Newtownabbey Borough Council - Membership Administration Officer - Antrim and Ballyearl
 
Do you come from an admin / customer services background and looking to transition into the Public Sector? Riada Resourcing is in recruitment partnership with Antrim & Newtownabbey Borough Council to recruit Membership and Administration Officers for their Parks and Leisure sector. 
 
With 4 positions on offer, full & part time hours available, these roles offer an excellent opportunity to contribute to local government operations while gaining valuable public sector experience.
 
About the role: 
  • Hourly Rate: £14.17 per hour + 10% shift allowance (£15.59 ph)
  • Location: Antrim and Ballyearl Arts & Leisure Centre
  • Hours: Monday to Friday in Antrim Civic Centre and Saturday and Sunday in Ballyearl.  Successful candidates will work; 8 hour shifts during the week and 6 hours shifts at weekend (1 in every 3 weekends).
  • 4 positions available 
  • Holidays: 37 days pro rata
  • Duration: Up to 3 months

What You’ll Do:

To assist with the overall success of the leisure service by providing effective administration of leisure memberships, booking of facilities and services, as well as being the main point of contact for customer’s leisure enquiries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake the detailed administrative duties and recording systems relating to leisure memberships which includes:
  • BACS collections services
  • Acting as first point of contact for payment and direct debit queries
  • Effectively dealing my new membership enquiries
  • Assisting new members with account and booking set-up
  • Processing of membership amendments/cancellations
  • Assist in the implementation and success of a leisure member retention strategy with duties to include: -
  • New member follow up calls
  • Recovery of memberships
  • Exit questionnaires

Criteria:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSE passes (grade A – C or equivalent, including Maths and English) Consideration may be given to those candidates who do not hold the above academic qualifications but who can demonstrate a minimum of 2 years relevant clerical experience 
  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in a customer focused environment dealing with internal and external customers
  • Minimum of 1 years’ sales and administrative experience (to include experience of accurate record keeping and filing)
  • Competent in the use of Windows Applications and Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Presents a positive image by communicating effectively, being resilient & treating people fairly.
  • Plans, structures & priorities own work to achieve results.
  • Establishes the needs of customers and strives to ensure these are met.
  • Takes personal responsibility for making things happen.
  • Shows motivation and perseverance in overcoming obstacles and achieving results
  • Seeks to continually improve the services and processes that impact on users
