Estimator (Building Products) - Full Time | Cookstown
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator to join a growing building products manufacturing business in Cookstown.
About the Role:
Working closely with customers, production teams, engineering departments, and suppliers, the Estimator will play a key role in evaluating project requirements, analysing costs, and delivering quotations within agreed timescales.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and quotations for building products based on customer specifications, drawings, and project requirements.
- Analyse material requirements, labour costs, manufacturing processes, and production times to ensure accurate pricing.
- Review technical drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and tender documents.
- Liaise with customers to clarify project requirements and specifications.
- Work closely with engineering, production, and purchasing teams to obtain accurate costing information.
- Source and evaluate supplier quotations for raw materials, components, and subcontracted services.
- Maintain and update costing databases, price lists, and estimating documentation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance estimating accuracy and efficiency.
- Assist with contract reviews and project handovers to production teams.
- Monitor market trends, material costs, and supplier pricing to ensure competitive quotations.
- Prepare reports and provide commercial support to management when required.
- Ensure all quotations are issued within agreed timescales while meeting company quality standards.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Undertake any other duties as reasonably required by management.
Criteria:
- Previous experience in an Estimator, Costing, Manufacturing, Engineering, or Technical role.
- Experience within the building products, construction, manufacturing, or engineering sector.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple quotations and deadlines.
