Parish Centre Co-ordinator - Part Time  |  Ballymena 

Key Details: 
  • £14.50 per hour
  • Part Time - 20 hours per week
  • 1 Year Fixed-Term Contract
  • 32 days annual leave (pro rata), inclusive of customary holidays

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly organised and enthusiastic Parish Centre Co-ordinator to oversee the day-to-day operation of a busy community and parish facility in Ballymena.

This varied role is ideal for someone with strong administration, organisational and financial administration skills who enjoys working with people and can ensure the smooth running of a vibrant centre used by a range of community groups, volunteers and visitors.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Act as the first point of contact for visitors, centre users and stakeholders, providing a professional and welcoming service.
  • Manage room bookings, enquiries, correspondence and general administrative activities to support the efficient operation of the centre.
  • Maintain records, user agreements, insurance documentation and compliance paperwork.
  • Coordinate volunteer and staff schedules, supporting the day-to-day running of the facility.
  • Process income, banking, invoicing, purchase invoices, petty cash and financial records in line with procedures.
  • Ensure Health & Safety, safeguarding and compliance requirements are implemented, monitored and maintained.
  • Oversee centre operations, including opening and closing procedures, event coordination, facilities monitoring and supplier liaison.
  • Assist with room setup, equipment requirements and the overall presentation of the centre to ensure a safe, clean and welcoming environment.

Criteria: 

Applicants must demonstrate:

  • GCSE English and Maths (Grade A-C) or equivalent
  • At least 2 years' experience in a co-ordination role involving administration and financial administration
  • Experience using accounting systems and financial procedures
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • IT proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other Office applications
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Awareness of Health & Safety responsibilities
  • Professionalism, discretion and confidentiality at all times
  •  Please note: The successful candidate will be required to undergo an Access NI check for working with Children and Adults at Risk of Harm prior to commencing employment.
