Assistant Financial Management Accountant – Derry/Londonderry - Public Sector
Join a leading Public Sector healthcare organisation as an Assistant Financial Management Accountant, supporting the delivery of financial management services across a range of clinical and non-clinical departments.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional or part-qualified accountant to develop their career within a large, Public Sector organisation that plays a vital role in supporting healthcare services across the region.
About the role:
- £19.78 p/h
- Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
- Public sector opportunity
- Based in Derry/Londonderry

What you will be doing:
- upporting the Financial Management team with budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
- Producing monthly management accounts and variance analysis.
- Providing financial advice and support to managers and budget holders.
- Assisting with budget setting, monitoring and financial planning processes.
- Preparing reconciliations and analysing financial data.
- Supporting the preparation of year-end accounts and audit requirements.
- Supervising and supporting members of the finance team.
- Contributing to continuous improvement of financial systems and processes.
What you will need:
Either:
- 5 years' relevant finance experience, including 2 years at supervisory level;
OR
- Part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or CPA) with 2 years' relevant finance experience.
- Strong financial analysis and reporting skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
- Ability to manage workloads, meet deadlines and work effectively within a team.
