Assistant Director - Belfast - Full Time
Join a leading public sector organisation in a senior strategic leadership role where you'll drive organisational performance, shape strategic direction and lead service improvement across Governance, Customer Engagement and Performance.
About the role:
- £39.36 per hour
- Location: Franklin Street, Belfast
- Monday to Friday, (9:00 am – 5:00 pm)
- 37.5 hours a week
- Temporary role up to 5 months with a possible extension

What you'll be doing in this role:
- Provide strategic leadership as a senior member of the Strategic Planning & Customer Engagement team, shaping and delivering the Directorate's vision and priorities
- Lead the development of strategic plans for Governance, Customer Engagement, Performance and Planning
- Advise and engage senior stakeholders on complex performance, governance and customer matters, including political, legal and industrial relations issues
- Champion collaboration, service excellence and an enhanced customer and staff experience across the organisation.
- Lead the organisation's strategic planning processes, aligning services with regional health priorities and organisational objectives
- Develop and implement customer relationship, service improvement and performance management strategies to drive continuous improvement and high-quality service delivery
What you'll need for this role:
- Degree or professional qualification with 3+ years' senior management experience, or 5+ years' senior management experience without a degree.
- Experience leading at least 3 of the following: Customer Service, Service Improvement, Performance Management, Strategic Planning, Risk Management or Corporate Governance.
- Proven experience in people and financial management.
- Track record of leading organisational change, service improvement and delivering challenging performance targets.
- Experience working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of governance, performance, risk, quality improvement, contract/SLA management and relevant ICT within Health & Social Care.
- Excellent analytical, communication and report writing skills, with experience presenting to senior stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (or alternative transport where reasonable adjustments apply).
