Estimator - Ballymena - Permanent

Key Details:
- Up to £50,000 per annum
- Monday to Thursday 8.00 am to 5.00 pm & Friday from 8.00 am to 2.30 pm

Key Responsibilities:
- Quotation Preparation — Produces accurate, detailed, and professional quotations for a wide range of projects.
- Document Review — Reviews drawings, specifications, and project information to ensure completeness.
- Information Validation — Identifies gaps, clarifies missing details, and validates technical information as required.
- Internal Collaboration — Works closely with engineers and internal teams to confirm technical data.
- Supplier Liaison — Obtains and compares supplier and subcontractor pricing for materials and services.
- Cost Database Management — Maintains and updates cost data for products, materials, and labour.
- Tender Support — Assists senior estimators with tender documentation and proposal preparation.
- Site & Project Support — Supports site teams and senior estimators with clarifications or occasional site visits.
- Cross‑Department Coordination — Coordinates with operations and sales teams to ensure smooth project handovers.
- Cost Tracking — Monitors project costs to ensure estimates remain accurate.
- Documentation Management — Organises and maintains project files, documentation, and records.
- Process Improvement — Contributes ideas to streamline and improve estimating processes.
Criteria:
- Mechanical/Electrical Estimating Knowledge or relevant educational background.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to use initiative and proactively clarify information.
- Excellent communication skills when liaising with engineers, internal teams, and suppliers.
- Organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Confident using Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and willing to learn estimating software.
- Positive, solution‑focused mindset with consistent deadline management.
- Comfortable working in an office‑based environment.
- Technical knowledge of doors, shutters, or façade systems is desirable but not essential.
