GIS Technician - Northern Ireland Housing Executive - Craigavon
Join the NI Housing Executive in Craigavon and play an important role as a GIS Technician, working within a team providing GIS and cartographic support in the delivery of Place Shaping /Regeneration Services.
About the role:
- £14.35 per hour
- Monday to Friday (9:00 am - 5.00 pm)
- 37 hours per week
- Holidays: 35 days pro rata
- Duration: Temporary, ongoing

What you'll be doing in this role:
- Support the regeneration functions of NIHE by producing lease maps, vesting maps, redevelopment maps, Board maps, flat/house sales maps as well as site surveys for land and property acquisition/sale.
- Editing and updating of NIHE digital land terrier system and NIHE grounds maintenance geographic data.
- Produce maps for many other NIHE departments, geographic data/mapping for external consultants and any other duties associated with the provision of a cartographic service to the Housing Executive.
- Contribute to Land Asset Management to provide a digital mapping system for the Land Asset Site Identification studies and Undeveloped Land Schedule.
- Maintenance of large paper based archive of OSNI maps, NIHE land terrier maps etc.
What you'll need for this role:
- BTEC Higher or equivalent qualification plus one year of relevant experience. OR,
- BTEC National or equivalent qualification plus two years of relevant experience.
- Exceptionally, candidates who do not meet the qualification requirement, but who can demonstrate that they have 3 year’s relevant experience may also be considered.
- Experience of utilising GIS desktop software, preferably ArcMap 10.
- Experience of using GIS for data capture including digitising and editing.
- Possess a current driving licence or have access to a form of transport that enables them to meet the requirements of the post in full.
