About the role:
- £18.85 per hour
- Civic Centre, Antrim
- 37 hours per week
- Temporary for up to 6 months

What you'll be doing in this role:
- Process salary and wage payments for staff, Elected Members and appointed officers in line with payroll regulations and procedures
- Prepare, check and input payroll data, including SSP, SMP and payroll calculations
- Validate and process timesheets, claims and variable payroll information within deadlines
- Produce payslips and urgent payments as required
- Maintain accurate payroll records including new starts, contract changes, deductions and leavers
- Update payroll master file information in line with statutory and Council requirements
- Support payroll costing processes and transfer payroll information to financial systems
- Administer occupational sick pay, maternity and paternity schemes and maintain associated records
- Ensure accurate processing of third-party payments and payroll-related financial information
What you'll need for this role:
- BTEC National Certificate in Business Related Studies or equivalent
- Consideration will be given to candidates who do not hold the above required qualification but who can demonstrate a minimum of 2 years’ experience as noted below

Minimum of *1 years’ experience of processing payroll in a computerised environment, taxation and national insurance and pension administration.

Maintain a high degree of quality and accuracy

Work as a member of a small team to meet deadlines for processing and payment

Keyboard skills

Integrated Personnel/Payroll Information System
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of payroll application of Local Government Terms and Conditions
