Regeneration Project Assistant - Antrim & Newtownabbey Borough Council - Mossley Mill
Join Antrim & Newtownabbey Borough Council as a Regeneration Project Assistant and play a key role in supporting the delivery of a wide range of economic programmes. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience within the public sector, working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.
About the role:
- £15.31 per hour
- Location: Mossley Mill, Newtownabbey
- Hours of Work: 37 hours, shift work 9:00pm - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday
- Duration: Up to 6 months with possible extension

Duties include:

To support the Regeneration Team in the delivery of a range of economic
development and town centre engagement programmes.
- To assist in the preparation, administration, vouching and monitoring of a range of
economic development projects.
- To engage with a range of regeneration stakeholders including town centre
businesses. This may require undertaking client site visits to meet business needs and to
support the requirements of Council support programmes.
- Contribute to the maintenance of a robust and complete business database to
support the continued outreach activities of the Economic Development and Planning
service, ensuring data is collected and presented in line with Council and other funder
requirements.
- Review and analyse grant applications and supporting documentation submitted to
support funding applications to Council. Prepare project summaries and papers for
Council Committees.
- Verify project expenditure and vouch claims, ensuring compliance with the terms and
conditions of funding and audit requirements. Coordinate site visits when necessary.
- Prepare claims for drawdown of funds from external funders and monitor income and
expenditure.
What you'll need for this role:
- A minimum of 5 GCSEs to include Maths and English or equivalent (Grades A - C)
- A minimum of 1 year of administrative experience
- Experience in the use of MS Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to deal with dissatisfied customers and difficult situations
- Good analytical, communication, and interpretation skills
- Be willing to work outside of normal business hours
- Full current driving licence, or if a disability prevents driving, access to a suitable form of transport to enable the duties of the post to be carried out in full
