Transport Manager - Belfast - Permanent
A leading waste management and logistics provider is seeking an experienced Transport Manager to oversee daily transport operations. This key leadership role involves managing teams across multiple depots, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness while maintaining the highest standards of service and safety.
About the role:
- Up to £55,000 (DOE)
- Monday to Friday
- 40 hours a week
- Location: Belfast with travel to other depots and customer sites as required)
- Company car allowance (vehicle provided after probation).
- Annual discretionary bonus linked to performance.
- 33 days’ annual leave including bank holidays.
- Private healthcare and cash plan (post-probation).

What you'll be doing in this role:
- Manage and coordinate transport teams to ensure operations run smoothly, safely, and in line with company and legal requirements.
- Plan and optimise vehicle scheduling, staffing, and route efficiency.
- Oversee compliance with drivers’ hours, rules, and regulations.
- Monitor and resolve transport non-conformances using internal audit systems.
- Lead contamination management initiatives to improve waste segregation and environmental compliance.
- Handle customer queries and complaints promptly and effectively.
- Prepare and manage transport budgets, driving operational efficiencies.
- Maintain up-to-date driver documentation, including licences and digital tachograph cards.
- Support HR with recruitment, performance reviews, and disciplinary processes.
What you'll need for this role:
- Valid CPC (International) Transport Manager Qualification.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Transport Compliance, Supervisor, or Manager role.
- Proven knowledge of transport legislation, drivers’ hours, and vehicle maintenance compliance.
- Valid UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel between depots.
