About the role:
- £19.11 per hour
- Location: Service Support Centre Boucher Crescent
- 36.25 hours a week
- Temporary, up to 6 months with possible extension

What you'll be doing in this role:
- To ensure service delivery of
all specialist operational equipment and vehicles is met at all times.
- Be responsible for the Inspection,
diagnostics, planned maintenance, emergency repair, bodywork, Coach building and
modification to all vehicles and equipment within the NIFRS fleet of Vehicles and
Operational equipment.
- Work across differing trade
disciplines in carrying out their role.
- To participate in the Regional Standby Rota to facilitate an effective support network
to ensure operational resilience is maintained out of hours.
- This involves carrying out
the emergency repair of vehicles and equipment and vehicle recovery for operational
incidents on a 24/7 basis.
To contribute as an integral member of the Fleet & Engineering team to support the
vision and mission of NIFRS
What you'll need for this role:
- Possess a certified level 3 trade qualification as depicted in the NQF in Vehicle
Repair and Maintenance.
- And have at least two years’ post apprentice experience working in a trade role in
their area of expertise which includes heavy vehicle
- Must demonstrate experience in plant mechanics and light vehicle repair.
- Level 3 qualification as depicted in the NQF in vehicle system repair and
replacement in Electric/Hybrid Vehicles.
- Qualified to safely install, maintain and fault find both 240v and 110v electrical
systems on vehicles and equipment.
- Must demonstrate excellent record keeping of computerised repair and inspection data.
- Competent in the use of IT software and computer systems.
- Competent in the use of a Management Information System (MIS) for record keeping on repair data.
- Possess a current UK C Class driving licence.
