About the role: 
  • £19.11 per hour
  • Location: Service Support Centre Boucher Crescent
  • 36.25 hours a week
  • Temporary, up to 6 months with possible extension

What you'll be doing in this role:
  • To ensure service delivery of all specialist operational equipment and vehicles is met at all times.
  • Be responsible for the Inspection, diagnostics, planned maintenance, emergency repair, bodywork, Coach building and modification to all vehicles and equipment within the NIFRS fleet of Vehicles and Operational equipment.
  • Work across differing trade disciplines in carrying out their role.
  • To participate in the Regional Standby Rota to facilitate an effective support network to ensure operational resilience is maintained out of hours.
  • This involves carrying out the emergency repair of vehicles and equipment and vehicle recovery for operational incidents on a 24/7 basis. To contribute as an integral member of the Fleet & Engineering team to support the vision and mission of NIFRS
 
What you'll need for this role:
  • Possess a certified level 3 trade qualification as depicted in the NQF in Vehicle Repair and Maintenance.
  •  And have at least two years’ post apprentice experience working in a trade role in their area of expertise which includes heavy vehicle
  • Must demonstrate experience in plant mechanics and light vehicle repair.
  • Level 3 qualification as depicted in the NQF in vehicle system repair and replacement in Electric/Hybrid Vehicles.
  • Qualified to safely install, maintain and fault find both 240v and 110v electrical systems on vehicles and equipment.
  • Must demonstrate excellent record keeping of computerised repair and inspection data.
  • Competent in the use of IT software and computer systems.
  • Competent in the use of a Management Information System (MIS) for record  keeping on repair data.
  • Possess a current UK C Class driving licence.
