Caretaker - Ballymena - Full Time

The Role:
- £13.20 per hour
- Monday to Friday
- Immediate start available
- Duration: Until end of June 2026 with possible extension)
There is a possibility the successful candidate will be required to work at other campuses depending on the needs of the business.
Shift patterns:
Early Mon-Thu, 7am-3pm; Fri, 7am-1:30pm
Late: Mon & Thurs, 9:30am-5pm; Tues & Wed, 2pm-10pm; Fri, 10am-4pm
What you'll be doing:
- Opening/closing premises, monitoring activity, operating security systems, responding to incidents, and ensuring a safe environment.
- Replacing lighting, reporting defects in fire safety equipment, and assisting maintenance teams with minor repairs.
- Overseeing cleanliness of facilities and grounds, including litter management, grass cutting, and clearing pathways of snow/ice.
- Managing deliveries, prepare rooms for exams/events, maintain communal areas, and assist in inter-campus deliveries.
- Recording maintenance and safety checks, report equipment defects, and monitor contractor access.
What you'll need for this role:
- GCSE Maths & English (Grade C or above) or satisfactory performance in College in-house tests.
- Minimum 6 months in an Caretaker / Estates-related role, with experience in Securing premises, Grounds maintenance and Area cleaning
- Basic Health & Safety at Work Certificate (Level 1) or equivalent experience in PPE, COSHH, Lone Working, Manual Handling, Risk Assessments, and Hazard Awareness.
- Must be able to respond to alarm notifications and reach the site within 20 minutes.
- The successful candidate will need to be Enhanced Access NI cleared.
