About the role:
- £12.85 p/h
- Public Sector
- 37 hours per week - Working on a rota basis every other Saturday. Hours such as 7.30am – 3.00pm and 3.00pm – 10.00pm
- Temporary – initially 6 months
- Location: The Braid Arts Centre, Ballymena
- Closing date: Friday 14th March 2025
Purpose of the role:
- Actively participate with the efficient and safe operation of the Braid, in line with Council policies and procedures and best practice, and with creating a welcoming environment that delivers excellent customer service to all visitors.
- Pro-actively support the successful delivery of all activities taking place within The Braid as a multi-purpose venue, liaising with internal and external stakeholders. Activities within the Braid include but are not limited to theatre performances, conferences and meetings, Council events, museum, heritage and arts exhibitions.
- Provide a high standard cleaning service throughout all areas of the Braid.
- Setting up and putting away equipment for events and manual handling
- Key holding responsibilities which may involve call outs during unsociable hours
- The role will involve a number of minor cleaning duties
Criteria:
- Have a minimum of 5 GCSEs to include English Language and Maths (grade C or above) or equivalent qualifications to demonstrate literacy and numeracy.
- One year’s experience of operational assistance in a customer facing role OR
- Be able to demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, that they have at least three years’ experience of operational assistance in a customer facing role
- A valid First Aid qualification or indicate willingness to participate in First Aid training
- Dealing with members of the public and queries
- Availability to respond to call-outs outside of core working hours within a reasonable time period
- Comprehensive knowledge of health & safety and the implementation of risk assessments and safe working practices
- Willingness to work on a shift pattern across a six day week, as well as on Sundays and public holidays when required
- Willingness and ability to respond to emergency call-outs for the building, including at unsociable times, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
