Benefits:
- Hourly Rate: £17.59 per hour
- Location: Mossley Mill, Newtownabbey
- Hours of Work: 37 hrs per week, Monday to Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm
- Holidays: 34 days pro rata

Role:
- You will help deliver a high-quality, efficient Planning Service for the Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council.
- Your role will support the team in meeting statutory requirements, maintaining effective performance management and promoting staff training and development to meet business and customer needs in line with best practice standards.
Criteria:
- HNC/HND/BTEC Higher National Certificate in Planning, Surveying and Cartography or BTEC Higher National Certificate in Land Administration (Planning) or an equivalent/higher standard of qualification
OR
- ONC/OND/BTEC National Diploma in Planning, Surveying and Cartography or BTEC National Diploma in Land Administration (Planning) and an aggregate of at least four years relevant experience*. The four years’ experience may include up to three years relevant full time study
- Relevant experience is defined as experience of regional planning or planning for the rural or urban environment in a paid, voluntary or academic capacity
- Ability to set clear objectives and targets and plan and review activities
- Ability to prioritise and manage own work and the work of others
- Strong organisational skills
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to lead, motivate and develop partnerships and individuals as appropriate
- Awareness of issues facing Local Government with respect to Planning
- Knowledge of relevant Northern Ireland Planning Policy and Legislation.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows applications
- A full current driving licence or, if a disability prevents driving, access to a suitable form of transport to enable the duties of the post to be carried out in full
- Available to work after hours, particularly evenings, to facilitate engagements and meetings.
