About the role:
- Hourly Rate: £13.02 per hour
- Location: Ballymena
- Hours of Work: 37 hrs per week, Monday to Thursday 8.30 am – 4.30 pm & Friday 8.30 am - 1.00 pm
- Holidays: 35 days pro rata
- Duration: Temporary, ongoing

Your focus will be to inspect, service and repair a diverse range of light commercial vehicles and grounds maintenance equipment. Duties will include:
- Examine and inspect the condition, road worthiness and safety of any vehicle or equipment, applying correct inspection techniques, reporting the findings and making recommendations to workshop supervisor.
- Service, repair and prepare vehicles for PSV/MOT in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner, to job times laid down by management.
- Conduct routine repairs and major services on a broad range of grounds maintenance equipment.
- Apply appropriate diagnostic techniques to determine the cause(s) of defects in vehicles, plant, components and systems, including use of diagnostic computer.
- Ensure full compliance with Health and Safety requirements.
Criteria:
- Candidates must be a time served mechanic with 3 of the last 5 years spent in a similar working environment carrying out similar duties.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Light Motor Vehicle Repair Studies.
- Full driving licence with no more than 3 penalty points.
- Desirable: C1 category on driving licence.
- As part of the reference checking and vetting process for this position you will be requested to undertake a Basic AccessNI Disclosure. Having a criminal record will not necessarily be a bar to obtaining a position.
