About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive health and safety professional to play a key role in maintaining and enhancing a positive safety culture across the site. Working closely with employees, management and external stakeholders, you will ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety legislation while driving continuous improvement initiatives and promoting best practice throughout the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive and promote a positive, proactive safety culture across the site.
- Engage employees and managers at all levels to encourage ownership of EHS, safe behaviours and hazard identification.
- Ensure safe systems of work are implemented and adhered to at all times.
- Carry out risk assessments and identify opportunities to reduce and control workplace risks.
- Develop and maintain safe operating procedures that take all relevant hazards into consideration.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure policies, procedures and standards are effectively implemented.
- Monitor working practices to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and company requirements.
- Support compliance with environmental, health and safety management systems.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and support audits and inspections.
- Deliver EHS training and awareness initiatives across the business.
- Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities.
Criteria
- NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety, or willingness to complete the qualification.
- IOSH Managing Safely qualification, or willingness to undertake training.
- 3-5 years' experience in a Health & Safety role within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working within a regulated or permitted industry.
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems and ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems.
- Experience carrying out risk assessments and job safety analyses.
- Experience auditing processes and operational areas against EHS requirements.
- Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
