Project Assistant (Economic Development ) - Mid East Antrim Borough Council - Ballymena

Join Mid and East Antrim Borough Council in Ballymena as a Project Assistant and support the delivery of key economic development initiatives across the Borough. Assist the Investment and Funding Manager with the administration and delivery of the Mid and East Antrim  Borough Council's portfolio of DAERA Rural Business Development Grant Scheme.

About the role: 
  • £20.29 per hour
  • 37 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday 
  • Based in Ballymena 
  • Temporary post initially until 31st January 2027, with possible extension

What you'll be doing in this role:
  • Provide effective support service to unit staff in order to facilitate the administration of the scheme.
  • Arranging meetings and support workshops for applicants and companies in receipt of a Letter of Offer.
  • Undertake regular research into best practice, emerging issues and policy developments in order to support the development and delivery of key projects and programmes of work.
  • Assist in the development, co-ordination and delivery of allocated projects or initiatives, including programming own workload to meet priorities/ deadlines.
  • Work with relevant Officers and the Marketing and Communications team to plan communication activity for assigned projects in order to support delivery of project KPIs.
  • Support relevant officers in compiling funding claims to external bodies.
What you'll need for this role:
  • A minimum of a third level qualification
  • At least one year’s experience assisting in the administration, development and implementation of initiatives for grant funded projects
  • At least one year’s experience working in partnership with a range of stakeholders to build effective relationships and deliver successful outcomes
  • At least one year’s experience in financial management, project monitoring, analysis and reporting
  • At least one year’s experience in research, including gathering and analysing statistical information
  • A full current UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, or access to suitable transport to carry out the duties of the role
