Domestic Assistant with Catering Duties - Whitehead - Full Time
Join the Northern Health and Social Care Trust as a Domestic Assistant with Catering Duties and play a key part in providing general cleaning, food service and associated duties.
About the role:
- £12.71 per hour
- Whitehaven Short Breaks Respite Home, Whitehead
- 37.5 hrs per week
- Mon- Fri 9AM - 5PM
- Temporary until 18/08/2026

What you'll be doing in this role:
- Floor maintenance duties to include use of vacuum cleaners, buffing and floor scrubbing machines.
- Cleaning all sanitary areas.
- Cleaning of all furniture/fittings/equipment – internal and external and general dusting duties, low and high level cleaning.
- Removal and rehanging of bed screens, curtains etc.
- Cleaning of walls, windows, glass partitions and other periodic duties as required such as carpet/upholstery cleaning.
- The collection and removal of waste and replacement of waste sacks, hand-towels, soaps, toilet rolls, etc.
What you'll need for this role:
- You will be provided with the necessary training to undertake the duties and responsibilities of the position.
- You will be required to attend the Trust’s Corporate Welcome Event in order to fulfil statutory and mandatory training requirements of the position.
- You will be required to attend and complete the Patient & Client Support Services Induction Programme and local Departmental Induction.
- You will be required to participate in and successfully complete the Basic Food Hygiene Certificate during the first 6 months of taking up post if not already obtained upon taking up post.
- You must hold or be willing to complete:
- Level 2 CIEH Food Safety Certificate
- British Institute of Cleaning Science Certificate (BISC’s)
- You will be required to complete any additional training as deemed as required by the Domestic Services Supervisor or and or by the Residential Team Leader.
