Caretaker (Casual) - Carrickfergus - Mid & East Antrim Borough Council

About the role:

- Casual on call basis, minimum 10 hours per week

- A full current driving licence valid in the UK and access to a vehicle OR have access to a form of transport that enables you to carry out the duties of the post.

Duties include:
- Be the primary key holder for designated community centre(s). This will include ensuring that the premises are opened and secured in a timely manner.
- Responsible for the security of the Centre, in co-operation with the DEA Officer and to control access to all parts of the buildings and responding to all call-outs.
- Be present on site and provide cover for bookings/activities in line with health and safety requirements.
- Ensure that all areas of the Centre, including associated facilities, are kept in a secure clean and hygienic condition and complete weekly cleaning schedules including the removal of litter or graffiti from the outside of the building.
- Respond to routine enquiries by telephone or in person and liaise with facility user groups.
What you'll need for this role:
- A minimum of 3 GCSEs to include English and Maths (grade C or above) or equivalent
- PLUS 6 months of experience in dealing with members of the public and queries AND in the operation of facilities including cleaning and security duties AND working knowledge of undertaking admin duties within a customer focused environment
- OR in the absence of GCSEs have 1 year of experience in the above
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Availability to respond to call-outs outside of core working hours within a reasonable time period AND availability for flexible working in any Community Centre in Carrickfergus area to include evenings and weekends as required
- A full current driving licence valid in the UK and access to a vehicle OR have access to a form of transport that allows you to carry out the duties of the post in full
