Antrim and Newtownabbey BC are seeking a motivated and strategic professional to join our Economic Development team and help drive business digital innovation project, business growth and economic development programmes across the Borough.

Duties include:
- Strategy and programme design - developing initiatives that support economic growth, innovation, and digital transformation.
- Funding acquisition - identifying, securing, and managing external funding opportunities.
- Partnership development - working collaboratively with government departments, businesses, education providers, community organisations, and other stakeholders.
- Programme leadership - leading projects and programmes from development through to delivery.
- Council reporting and governance - preparing reports, business cases and recommendations for senior officers, committees, and elected members.
- Staff and stakeholder management - building relationships, influencing partners, and coordinating delivery across multiple organisations.
This role would suit candidates from backgrounds such as economic development, regeneration, innovation, enterprise support, programme management, skills development, funding management, or other public sector development roles.
The ideal candidate will understand how to operate within a local government environment, work effectively with elected members and partners, and translate strategic priorities into programmes that deliver measurable benefits for the Borough.
Please note: This role is not focused on ICT operations, software development, network management, or digital marketing. Our client is seeking candidates with strong programme, partnership, funding, and stakeholder management experience who can lead and deliver strategic digital innovation initiatives within a council setting.
What you'll need for this role:
- Applicants must possess a degree or equivalent qualification
- OR possess 4 years’ experience in delivering digital programmes to include 2 years of experience in a wide range of economic development activities
- Good planning and project management skills
- Creative and innovative to deliver service improvements
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office and Windows applications
