The Role
As a Batching Operative, you will play a key role in the production process, ensuring concrete is accurately batched to specification and supplied efficiently to the precast manufacturing facilities. Working with computer-controlled batching systems, you will help maintain the highest standards of quality, safety, and operational performance.
Hours of Work
Monday to Friday
40 hours per week
Shift pattern: 7:00am–4:00pm or 8:00am–5:00pm (to be confirmed)
Key Responsibilities
- Operate computer-controlled batching plant equipment safely and efficiently.
- Produce concrete mixes in line with required specifications and quality standards.
- Carry out pre-start and pre-use inspections of plant and equipment.
- Report any operational, maintenance, or safety concerns promptly.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, including end-of-shift wash-down procedures.
- Adhere to all company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet production targets and deadlines.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the department.
- Ensure compliance with workplace PPE requirements and COSHH regulations.
Criteria:
- Previous experience in a similar manufacturing / health and safety environment or equivalent
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Awareness of COSHH regulations and safe working practices.
- Understanding of workplace Health & Safety procedures.
