About the role:
- £26.89 per hour
- Linenhall Street, Belfast
- 37.5 hours per week
- Temporary for 3 months

What you'll be doing in this role:
- Responsible for the provision of specialist advice to the Committee Chair on
the corporate governance of each meeting of the LCG in accordance with
Legislative requirement, Codes of Conduct and Accountability. The post
holder will take appropriate follow-up action within the required timescales.

Responsible for the provision of high quality secretariat support to the LCG /
Commissioning Group meetings.
- The post-holder will engage directly with
the Chair, Commissioning Lead and Senior officers to co-ordinate business,
develop agendas and produce briefing papers on major issues.
- The post
holder will prepare Chair’s notes, produce formal minutes of the meetings
and ensure follow-up action is monitored and reported at the subsequent
meeting.
- The post- holder will be accountable for the content of minutes
which are subject to public scrutiny to ensure a positive public perception of
the SPPG in its conduct of business.
- The post- holder will exercise discretion
the content of minutes of special meetings and workshop sessions where
highly confidential information is discussed and which may be made
available upon request.
Act as the key point of contact for the LCG Chair, Commissioning
Lead and Members to enable them to discharge their duties and
responsibilities.
- The post-holder will provide advice and guidance and
deal with sensitive matters as required.

Responsible for the annual schedule of meetings of the LCG /
Commissioning Groups, in accordance with the corporate calendar. This
will include arrangements for the handling of controversial public meetings
including management of large numbers of service users, unions, local
community groups, other interested parties members of the public and
press.
- The post-holder will plan and implement a programme of Workshops,
visits and other activities for Members within SPPG.
Act as the contact point for all enquiries pertaining to the business of the
LCG / Commissioning Group from service users, local community groups,
special interest groups, members of the public and press.
- The post-holder
will be responsible for engaging with and providing information and advice to
these individuals/groups by telephone and e-mail and also to meet face-to
face on meeting days. This may involve dealing with controversial and
sensitive matters of business.
What you'll need for this role:
- University Degree or a recognised
professional qualification or equivalent
qualification and at least 2 years’ experience
in the last 5 years in a role involving staff
management, facilities management,
servicing of formal meetings with senior staff,
and advising on corporate governance issues
- OR
- HND/HNC or equivalent (NQF Level 5) and
at least 3 years’ experience in a role
involving staff management, facilities
management, servicing formal meetings
with Senior staff and advising on Corporate
Governance issues.
- OR
- Worked for at least 5 years in the last 7 years
in a role involving staff management, facilities
management, servicing formal meetings with
Senior staff and advising on Corporate
Governance issues
- Demonstrate a knowledge and
understanding of corporate governance
requirements;
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a
leadership role, delivering objectives,
including those relating to Health and Safety,
Fire Safety and Security and facilities
management which contribute to the
performance and objectives of an
organisation;
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience, working
with a diverse range of external and internal
stakeholders;
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in
staff management;
- Proven experience in planning the activities
of a Board and/or Committees in line with
the corporate timetable;
- Effective verbal and written communication
skills to meet the needs of the post in full,
including minute taking.
- Excellent communication (written and
verbal), negotiation, interpersonal and team
working skills with the ability to persuade
and influence a wide range of internal and
external stakeholders
- Demonstrate ability to deal with
complex matters or sensitive issues in
a clear and decisive manner
- Demonstrate experience and ability in the
planning, management and organisation of
corporate services, ensuring the best levels
of efficiency and effectiveness while
maintaining appropriate quality standards
- Demonstrate capacity to work effectively
as part of a local management team
- Strong organisation and time management
skills, including the ability to manage a
complex workload
- Working knowledge and experience in
Facilities Management, including Fire, Health
and Safety and Security Management and,
in developing, implementing and reviewing
policies in these specialist areas to ensure
the SPPG meets its statutory requirements
- Experience in a range of IT applications
to create reports, presentations and
communications to staff
- Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for
use in the UK and have access to a car on
appointment. This criteria will be waived in the
case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving
but who have access to a form of transport
approved by The Organisation which will permit
them to carry out the duties of the post.
