Parks and Leisure Administration Officer - Antrim & Newtownabbey Borough Council 
 
Join Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council as a Parks and Leisure Administration Officer and support the delivery of services across parks and leisure facilities. Working within a busy team, you will provide essential administrative support to ensure operations run efficiently.
 
About the role: 
  • £15.31 per hour
  • 2 positions available - 37 hours and 18 hours 
  • Antrim Civic Centre (Monday to Friday) Ballyearl Leisure Centre (Saturday and Sunday)
  • Up to 3 months pending review
  • Public Sector 
  • Days and hours of work - A 4 x week rota is currently in operation.  Shifts can be anytime within the following More Team Working Hours range: 8am to 8pm Mon to Thurs, 8am to 6pm Fri, 10am to 4pm Sat & Sun.  (One weekend in 4 required at present.)

What you'll be doing in this role:
  • Manage leisure membership administration, including handling enquiries, setting up accounts and bookings, processing payments (including BACS), and managing amendments, cancellations and direct debit queries
  • Support member retention activities including follow-up calls, membership recovery, cancellation feedback and exit questionnaires
  • Promote leisure memberships through external sales activity, including sourcing and attending outreach events
  • Use and maintain parks and leisure management systems and payment platforms to support memberships, bookings, lessons and programmes
  • Liaise with customers, clubs and organisations to coordinate bookings across a range of leisure facilities and services
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure accurate coordination of bookings, events and programme delivery
  • Work with relevant teams to support operational requirements, including planned maintenance and service updates
What you'll need for this role:
  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grades A-C) to include English and Maths or equivalent 
  • Consideration may be given to those candidates who do not hold the above academic qualifications but who can demonstrate a minimum of 2 years' relevant experience as below
  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in a customer focused environment dealing with internal and external customers.
  • Minimum of 1 years’ administrative experience to include experience of accurate record keeping and filing.
  • Competent in the use of Windows and Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Outlook and Excel.  
  • A full current driving licence or, if a disability prevents driving, access to a suitable form of transport to enable the duties of the post to be carried out in full.
