Cook - Portstewart
Join a crèche in Portstewart as a Cook and prepare nutritious, balanced meals within a caring early years environment. You will play a key role in supporting children’s wellbeing while maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.
About this role:
- £13.35 per hour
- Monday to Friday (8am - 1pm)
- Temporary role
What you'll be doing in this role:
- Prepare, cook, and serve healthy meals and snacks suitable for young children.
- Ensure meals meet nutritional guidelines and support children’s health and wellbeing.
- Cater for special dietary requirements, allergies, and cultural needs as required.
- Ensure food is prepared and served safely and at appropriate temperatures.
- Plan menus in line with crèche policies and budgets.
- Order food supplies and manage stock levels to minimise waste.
- Work closely with crèche staff to support children’s needs.
What you'll need for this role:
- Experience working as a Cook or in a food preparation role
- Knowledge of food hygiene and safe food handling practices
- Ability to plan and prepare nutritious meals
- Reliable, organised, and able to work independently
- As part of the Recruitment & Selection process it will be necessary to carry out an Enhanced Disclosure Check through Access NI before any appointment to this post can be confirmed.
