Electrical Design Manager - Ballymena - Permanent
Join an industry leading engineering company in Ballymena as an Electrical Design Manager and take a lead role in delivering high-quality electrical building services solutions across a range of complex projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical design professional to lead design teams, maintain technical standards, and contribute to innovative engineering projects within a progressive and supportive environment.
About the role:
- Circa £75,000 per annum + bonus

What you'll be doing in this role:
- Design HV, MV and LV electrical distribution systems, lighting and controls, fire detection, security, access control and specialist systems (PLC/SCADA).
- Ensure designs are compliant, buildable and value engineered to meet project requirements.
- Manage consultant MEP design teams, allocating BG6/DRM responsibilities, monitoring progress and providing technical guidance.
- Review drawings, specifications, BWIC details, PMIs and technical submittals.
- Manage elements of the design budget and support resource allocation across design workstreams.
- Collaborate with bid and estimating teams to provide early stage technical input, calculations and design strategies.
- Undertake site visits to review existing conditions and identify engineering challenges.
- Provide technical support across FM, Design & Build and traditional project teams.
What you'll need for this role:
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering and building services design principles
- Ability to produce technical design inputs for tenders, procurement and early stage design
- Thorough understanding of the RIBA/BSRIA stages of work
- Ability to review drawings, models and specifications for accuracy and buildability
- Solid commercial and programme awareness
- Ability to work flexibly across multiple simultaneous projects
