Waste Management Operatives - Antrim & Newtownabbey Borough Council - Antrim
Join Antrim & Newtownabbey Borough Council as a Waste Management Operative in Antrim and play a key role in supporting essential environmental and waste services within the local community.
About the role:
- £13.26 per hour + shift allowance
- Based primarily at Environmental Services Depot, Antrim but may be required to work at any WRM facility throughout the Council Borough
- 37 hours per week (including weekends)
- 3 months pending review
- Public Sector

What you'll be doing in this role:
- Your main focus will be to assist in the collection of waste (residual & recyclable waste/resource) from the kerbside, street cleansing, and Household Recycling Centre.
What you'll need for this role:
- Minimum of 6 months previous relevant work experience in a waste environment
- Basic literacy, ability to read instructions and communications.
- Flexible approach, Good organisational and time management skills , Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Computer literate (to use TMS for holidays/GPS)
- Working knowledge of health and safety procedures including manual handling and assisting driver whilst reversing.
- Knowledge of waste collection/disposal and recycling issues and Traffic management
