Technical Standards Manager - Northern Ireland Housing Executive - Belfast
Join the Northern Ireland Housing Executive in Belfast as a Technical Standards Manager and lead on quality, compliance, and technical excellence across public sector housing.
About the role:
- £23.37 per hour
- Monday to Friday (9.00 am – 5.00 pm)
- 37 hours a week
- Holidays: 38 days pro rata
- Duration: Temporary, ongoing

What you'll be doing in this role:
- Manage the technical appraisal of scheme proposals to ensure compliance with the relevant design requirements and criteria contained within the Housing Association Guide.
- Evaluation of schemes when submitted for approval within and above TCI to secure delivery in line with the agreed programme.
- Evaluation and assessment of Technical content at all key development stages to ensure Value for Money and compliance with technical procurement requirements of the Housing Association Guide.
- Participate in the formulation of design standards, lifetime homes, energy conversation and sustainable issues and represent the NIHE as required in relation to these matters to ensure a customer-focussed and responsive service delivery.
- Provide advice and guidance on the formulation, interpretation and implementation of standards, policy and procedures and requirements of the Housing Association Guide as required.
- Should be conversant with design standards/ requirements for approving new build and other category schemes.
What you'll need for this role:
- Have a degree level qualification or equivalent Level 6 qualification and demonstrate a minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
- OR have an Architect qualification and demonstrate a minimum of 3 years relevant post qualification experience.
- OR can demonstrate equivalent continuing professional development of experiential learning and demonstrate at least 5 years relevant experience.

Experience of dealing with large scale, complex development schemes.
- Experience working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, solving complex issues.
- Experience analysing and interpreting data and managing complex information to improve service provision.
- Possess a current driving licence or have access to a form of transport that enables them to meet the requirements of the post in full.
- As part of the reference checking and vetting process for this position you will be requested to undertake a Basic AccessNI Disclosure. Having a criminal record will not necessarily be a bar to obtaining a position.
