Cyber Security Manager - Northern Ireland Housing Executive - Belfast
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Cyber Security Manager to join the Northern Ireland Housing Executive’s ICT team in Belfast. This key role will lead on developing, implementing, and maintaining robust cyber security strategies to protect the organisation’s systems, data, and digital infrastructure. The successful candidate will provide expert leadership, manage security risks, and ensure compliance with national standards while supporting the delivery of secure and innovative digital services.
About the role:
- £23.37 per hour
- Monday to Friday (9.00 am – 5.00 pm)
- 37 hours per week

What you'll be doing in this role:
- To be responsible for overseeing cyber security operations within the Housing Executive.
- To ensure that cyber security processes and policies are well defined, implemented and operated across the organisation.
- To manage the Housing Executive’s cyber security strategy, risk assessments and security roadmap.
- To identify, assess, and mitigate cyber security risks as required, ensuring alignment with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- To promote the adoption of cyber security, raise awareness principles within the organisation and ensure all processes adhere to ITIL/Information Security industry standards.
- To develop, maintain and communicate the Housing Executive’s security strategy and vision, by maintaining knowledge on emerging security trends, threats, and best practices.
- To manage Cyber incidents & vulnerabilities & respond in accordance with established procedures and assisting with investigations. Ensure accurate records of security incidents, vulnerabilities, and compliance activities are maintained.
What you'll need for this role:
- Clearly demonstrate at least 3 years’ relevant experience within the last 5 years working in a Cyber Security Management role within a large organisation.
- Or can demonstrate that you have relevant experience in at least 4 out of the 5 areas: Played a critical role in shaping and implementing best practices in cyber security architecture, governance, risk management, and compliance, while supporting IT teams in embedding security into all aspects of their work. Provided strategic security direction and hands-on guidance to ensure robust cyber security management, processes & practices are in place. Managed the cybersecurity strategy, risk assessments and security roadmap, contributed to the success of the Cyber division as part of a leadership team. Demonstrate your experience in: Incident response / recovery plans
- Can demonstrate a deep understanding of Cyber Security, detailing your current responsibilities, skills & experience.
- Can demonstrate in-depth understanding of UK Government security / international standards
- Possess a current driving licence or have access to a form of transport that will permit the candidate to meet the requirements of the post in full.
