Construction Health & Safety Advisor - Northern Ireland Housing Executive - Belfast
The Northern Ireland Housing Executive is seeking a Construction Health & Safety Advisor to support safe working practices across projects, ensuring compliance, providing training and driving health and safety standards across the organisation
About the role:
- £18.72 per hour
- The Housing Centre, Belfast (travel to other locations may be required)
- Monday to Friday, (9:00am - 5:00pm)
- 35 days annual leave pro rata
- Temporary, ongoing

What you'll be doing in this role:
- Collating project pre-construction information
- Reviewing construction phase plans
- Produce reports, collect and analyse date and attend meetings where you will communicate your findings and recommendations
- Design and deliver training & provide information / support to internal & external stakeholders
- Assist in the development, implementation, and operation of policies and procedures
- Compile and maintain appropriate records, statistics, and performance indicators
- Participate in relevant meetings including Pre-Start meetings, Site meetings, and Risk Reduction meetings
What you'll need for this role:
- Degree or higher qualification (level 6) in Occupational Health & Safety or a relevant professional qualification AND can demonstrate 2 years of relevant experience in a Construction Health & Safety Advisor / Officer role
- OR Can demonstrate that you are currently progressing through a level 6 course in Occupational Health & Safety AND have 3 years of relevant experience in a Construction Health & Safety Advisor / Officer role
- Membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) at either technical or certified level
- A CSR Card – (you will be expected to gain the Gold Health & Safety Practitioner CSR card on renewal
- Candidates must have access to a form of transport to enable the candidate to fulfil the requirements of the post.
