Logistics Supervisor – Toomebridge – Permanent

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Logistics Supervisor to oversee day-to-day transport operations within a leading manufacturer supplying the construction industry. This pivotal role involves supervising logistics personnel, coordinating delivery schedules, ensuring vehicle compliance, and maintaining strong communication across production and sales to guarantee efficient and reliable service.

About this role:
  • £35,000 – £40,000 per annum
  • Monday to Friday
  • Benefits: Company pension scheme, opportunities for career progression and professional development
  • Working Environment: Time will be split approximately 70% in the dispatch area and 30% in the office
  • Permanent role
What you'll be doing in this role:
  • Supervise and lead a team of logistics staff, ensuring workloads are managed effectively and performance targets are consistently met.
  • Oversee the safe and efficient loading of products, ensuring full compliance with all health and safety regulations.
  • Actively supervise dispatch operations, including load management and safe crane movement protocols.
  • Plan and manage delivery schedules to meet customer deadlines and operational requirements.
  • Monitor and coordinate vehicle maintenance to ensure all lorries remain roadworthy and compliant with relevant legislation.
  • Liaise closely with production and sales teams to align transport operations with customer requirements and business priorities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including delivery schedules, vehicle inspection logs, and staff performance documentation.
What you'll need for this role:
  • Proven experience within a supervisory or leadership role in logistics, transport, or a related sector.
  • Strong organisational and planning abilities, with the capability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Solid understanding of vehicle maintenance, compliance requirements, and transport safety standards.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and drive results in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • A strong commitment to maintaining robust health and safety standards.
