About the role:
- £23.60 per hour
- Monday to Friday
- Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week,
- Duration: Temporary, ongoing for 12 months with possibility of an extension for a further 12 months
What you'll be doing in this role:
- The post holder will be responsible for the provision of an effective, efficient and economic Financial Assessments and Direct payments function. The post holder will also have responsibility for the management of two Cash Offices and a number of other accounting functions. He/she will support the drive for continuous improvement in service delivery in line with the strategic objectives of the Trust.
- He/ she will manage the department systems and processes ensuring they are fit for purpose, robust and ensure compliance with DoH regulations and support Trust decision-making process. He/she will ensure appropriate banking and cash management arrangements are in place for Public Funds, Charitable Funds and Patients’ /clients’ monies.
- The post holder will support the Head of Financial Services in meeting financial management and performance targets, including meeting Ministerial priorities as defined by the DoH, statutory requirements, securing continuous improvement and providing high quality and effective services within a clear financial framework.
- He/she will provide clear leadership to all the staff in the Department and will deputise for the Head of Financial Services across a range of responsibilities as and when required.
What you'll need for this role:
- Full membership of one of the five professional accounting institutes within the CCAB or CIMA
- AND
- A minimum of two years’ experience in a senior finance* role
- Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment. This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport approved by the Trust which will permit them to carry out the duties of the post
- Knowledge and experience of computerised financial systems and Microsoft Office and an ability to utilise them to their full potential
