About the role: 
  • £21.96 per hour
  • Lisburn HQ
  • 36.25 hours a week
  • Temporary, up to 6 months with possible extension

MAIN PURPOSE: To provide informed and timely HR advice, intervention and guidance to managers within one of the four geographical command areas and to support the designated area in the implementation of HR policies and procedures
 
 What you'll be doing in this role:
  • Provide specialist HR advice and support to managers within an assigned geographical area on policies, employment law, and best practice.
  • Advise on and assist with grievance, discipline, bullying, harassment, and attendance management procedures.
  • Foster effective working relationships with key stakeholders including Area Commanders, Group Commanders, and representative bodies.
  • Develop and implement proactive HR solutions focused on early intervention, communication, and risk mitigation.
  • Support the coordination and management of HR cases, including recording, archiving, and reporting for area management.
  • Deliver HR learning and development sessions on core people management topics such as discipline, grievance, and attendance management.
  • Assist with recruitment activities and contribute to HR policy development, ensuring compliance with legislative and organisational requirements.
What you'll need for this role:
  • Degree (Level 6) qualification and current CIPD membership with 2+ years’ HR experience in employee relations within a unionised environment.
    OR Degree (Level 6) qualification, working towards CIPD membership, and 4+ years’ HR experience in employee relations in a unionised environment
  • Good understanding of employment legislation.
  • Strong planning, organisational, and communication skills (oral and written).
  • Customer-focused with ability to develop and deliver training.
  • Skilled in producing accurate HR reports.
  • Full UK driving licence or access to transport for job duties.
