Lab Technician - Bushmills
A great opportunity for a skilled Lab Technician to join a well-established production facility in Bushmills. This role involves a mix of laboratory and environmental analysis, supporting quality assurance and process performance across the site. Ideal for candidates with a background in food science or analytical chemistry looking to contribute to high-quality manufacturing standards.
About the role:
- £Competitive salary
- Monday to Friday
- 37 hours a week
- 6 month cover with possibility of extension
What you will be doing:
- Documentation and analysis of distillery raw materials/ingredients/Process and environmental samples, routine in process and finished product sensory profiling and compilation of data for corporate reports.
- Ensuring that equipment is well calibrated and reference standards used at defined frequencies to ensure accuracy of measurements
- Participation in process improvements and proactive in identifying any potential problems and non-conformances with site standards (internal audits, effective PDCA cycles and CAPA)
- Carrying out and recording of quality assurance checks within packaging, or other areas as required, monitoring process performance, critical control points, and maintain accurate data across all processes.
- Complying with all safety, health, environmental, quality and housekeeping policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in a food science based subject.
- Must have a minimum of 12 months recent experience working in a laboratory within an FMCG Company
- Working Knowledge in Quality Management Systems, Analytical Chemistry and Packaging process.
- Must be computer literate, with experience of using Microsoft Windows.
- A team player who can build strong working relationships to achieve team goals, with an ability to lead, inspire and positively influence others.
- An inquisitive nature and ability to generate ideas in order to help improve overall performance with a positive attitude to work, flexible and reliable.
