About the role:
- £20.66 per hour
- 37 hours per week (weekends, evenings and public holidays as and when required)
- Fixed term contract for 9 months
- Public Sector
- Closing date: Wednesday 3rd September
What you'll be doing in this role
- Inspections of commercial and domestic premises
- Provide advice and make recommendations to public, commercial and governmental organisations on a range of environmental health and/or wellbeing issues.
- Contribute to effective liaison and partnership arrangements
- Prepare premises reports and other correspondence for businesses and for members of the public in connection with service requests.
- Prepare reports on Environmental Health issues at the request of the Environmental Health Manager and/or Principal Environmental Health Officers.
- Assist in the training of students on placement or work experience as well as new departmental employees, as required.
- Carry out a range of administrative duties including the maintenance of computerised and/or manual records and the preparation of statistics, relating to work activities.
What you'll need for this role
- Degree in Environmental Health AND hold membership of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
- One years' experience in an Environmental Health Officer in local Government
- One years’ experience in forming effective and professional relationships with stakeholders
- Competence in the use of Microsoft Office to include: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Hold a full current driving licence valid in the UK and access to a form of transport that enables you to carry out the duties of the post.
- Must be flexible to work across other locations
