Northern Ireland Housing Executive - Administration Officer - Belfast

About the role:
- Hourly Rate: £12.59 per hour
- Location: Belfast
- Hours of Work: 37 hrs per week, Monday to Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm
- Holidays: 35 days pro rata
- Duration: Temporary, ongoing

In this key role, you will support the Payments Function, ensuring accurate and timely expenditure processing in line with NIHE’s financial controls and standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Process payment transactions accurately and promptly, meeting contractual deadlines and the 10-day prompt payment target
- Maintain and update standing data records within financial control guidelines
- Respond to communications via email, phone, or face-to-face and provide timely resolutions
- Prepare financial information and performance statistics for internal and external stakeholders
- Conduct audits and assurance checks on financial data
- Support the continuous improvement of payment processes, identifying and implementing enhancements
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining strong working relationships
- Ensure compliance with NIHE policies and legal frameworks, including equality, health and safety, and information governance.
Criteria:
- A Levels (Level 3) and at least 1 year of relevant experience
- 5 GCSEs (Level 2), including Maths and English at grade C or above, and at least 2 years of relevant experience
- Alternatively, 3 years’ relevant experience with evidence of training/learning in payment-related matters may be considered
- As part of the reference checking and vetting process for this position you will be requested to undertake a Basic AccessNI Disclosure. Having a criminal record will not necessarily be a bar to obtaining a position
Additionally, candidates must demonstrate:
- Experience working in a finance or transaction processing environment
- Proficiency in using a management system in a transaction processing setting
