The Role:
As a Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining production equipment and supporting efficient manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for planned preventative maintenance, fault finding, repairs and equipment overhauls across a busy production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on mechanical plant and equipment.
- Respond to breakdowns and equipment failures, identifying root causes and restoring production safely.
- Diagnose mechanical faults using appropriate inspection and testing techniques.
- Maintain and repair production machinery including pumps, gearboxes, bearings, rollers, shafts, valves, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Complete machinery strip-downs, repairs, overhauls and reassembly.
- Replace and tension belts, chains, couplings and drive components.
- Carry out bearing replacement, alignment and lubrication activities.
- Support planned shutdowns and major maintenance projects.
Criteria:
- Completed a Modern Engineering Apprenticeship or possess 5+ years' relevant mechanical maintenance experience.
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of safe systems of work.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation.
- Proven fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
- Good communication and planning skills.
- Flexibility to provide call-out support when required.
