LGV Drivers - Mid and East Antrim Borough Council - Larne
An exciting opportunity is available for experienced LGV Drivers to join the operational services team at Mid and East Antrim Borough Council. Based in Larne, this role involves driving and operating a variety of council vehicles, including those used for refuse collection, recycling, street cleansing, and other essential services.
About the role:
- £15.31 per hour
- 37 hour a week, Tuesday to Friday
- Duration: 3 months with a possible extension
- Closing date: Wednesday12th August
What you'll be doing in this role:
- Drive any vehicles the post holder is trained in, including but not limited to those in connection with refuse collection, recycling and disposal vehicles, street cleansing services and other operational services vehicles within any given area of the Borough. Ensuring the vehicle is not overloaded and is safely manoeuvred on its daily route.
- Efficient completion of the daily/weekly specific work schedules in relation to allocated duties including defined collection routes where applicable.
- Take responsibility for the safety, supervision and transportation of the crew, ensuring crew members comply with operational procedures whilst carrying out their duties and dealing with queries from members of the public or referring to the post holder's line manager as appropriate.
What you'll need for this role:
- Valid Category C Driving Licence
- Valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) card
- A minimum of two years’ continuous LGV driving experience
- Must successfully pass a driving assessment
Please Note - Any penalty points active on the driving license must be declared along with the relevant code, these will then be assessed for relevance to the duties of the post
