Leisure Attendants (Full Time) - Mid & East Antrim Borough Council - Larne

About the role
- £13.26 per hour
- 2 positions available
- Monday to Sunday, evenings and public holidays as dictated by the needs of the service.
- 37 hours per week
- 3 months with a possible extension
- Location: Larne Leisure Centre
- Please note the closing date for this vacancy is Friday 10th July
What you'll be doing in this role:
- Proactively and reactively supervise the high risk areas within the centre providing an efficient and effective lifeguard service in accordance with the centre’s Normal Operation Procedure (NOP) and Emergency Action Plan (EAP) or as directed by your line manager.
- Supervise and assist customers throughout the centre, to include changing rooms, shower rooms, health suite, fitness suite and other parts of the centre as required, including outdoor areas.
- Respond to, and assist with all emergency situations and evacuations pertinent to a leisure centre in compliance with the Councils Health and Safety procedures to ensure the safety of customers and staff.
- Actively participate in staff training and development in compliance with the staff training policy to continuously develop personal knowledge, competencies and skills to enhance internal and external customer service.
- Ensure all equipment is erected, dismantled and stored safely within the centre or any other leisure facilities, including outdoors. This includes preparation for events and where necessary to actively man events, functions and activities as required.
- Undertake and maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the centre and its surrounding grounds in accordance with the centres Cleaning work Instructions. This includes the correct use and storage of all Cleaning materials, use of appropriate protective clothing, mechanical and electrical cleaning equipment.
What you'll need for this role:
- Possession of a current lifesaving qualification, minimum National Pool Lifeguard Award or RLSS Bronze Medallion or equivalent
- Ability to pass swim competency assessment
