Fire Safety Officer | Northern Ireland Housing Executive | Belfast
Join the Northern Ireland Housing Executive in Belfast as a Fire Safety Officer and support the implementation and monitoring of fire safety policies and procedures across the organisation, ensuring compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
About the role:
- £19.32 per hour
- Monday to Friday
- Hybrid working with regular travel to site

What you'll be doing in this role:
- To be responsible for Fire Safety Management of a designated portfolio of
premises in collaboration with other departments, professions and organisations
(internally and externally) to ensure the delivery of a customer focused service.
- To fulfil the role of a competent person with sufficient training, experience,
and knowledge to undertake Fire Risk Assessments to identify hazards and risks
to relevant persons and prescribing appropriate risk reduction solutions in a fire
safety Action Plan.
- To ensure that Action Plans arising out of Fire Risk Assessments are
delivered, managed and updated within acceptable timeframes including remedial
actions that have been assigned to the Fire Safety Officer and pro-actively
pursuing actions that have been assigned to others, consequently reducing fire
risk to as low as reasonably practicable.
- To manage and co-ordinate all aspects of the operational delivery of Fire
Safety works via contractors in collaboration with other departments, professions
and organisations (internally and externally).
What you'll need for this role:
- Construction and / or Fire Safety qualification with a minimum of 1 years post qualification experience.
- Have access to a form of transport which will permit you to carry out the duties of the post.
- As part of the reference checking and vetting process for this position you will be requested to undertake a Basic AccessNI Disclosure. Having a criminal record will not necessarily be a bar to obtaining a position.
