IT Senior Network Officer - Northern Regional College
Join Northern Regional College as an IT Senior Network Officer and play a key role in the ongoing development and maintenance of the College network and network components to support the objectives of the IT Team in delivering organisation wide business services.
About the role:
- Circa £38,000 per annum
- Campus to be confirmed (Coleraine, Ballymena, Newtownabbey or Magherafelt)
- Monday to Friday
- Full time
- Permanent role
What you'll be doing in this role:
- To ensure that all changes to College network and communication systems are carried out in accordance with the relevant change management policy and process.
- Responsible for the configuration, management and maintenance of the College’s network and communication systems in accordance with College requirements and agreed service levels – network systems
- Responsible for the delivery of projects to pilot, develop and implement new network systems as directed by the IT Systems Manager.
- To install, configure and test both hardware and software for network use, ensuring that all such work is in keeping with the strategic development of the College network.
- To contribute to the development of SLAs for network-related service requests.
- To assist with and support the selection and implementation of appropriate security controls for the College’s network infrastructure under the direction of the IT Systems Manager
- To support the IT Systems Manager in the development and maintenance of accurate asset inventories for network equipment.
What you'll need for this role:
- Either hold a Level 4 qualification or equivalent in a relevant discipline. Plus at least three years’ experience in the area of IT networking, telephony support and maintenance.
- OR have at least seven years’ relevant experience in the area of IT networking, telephony support and maintenance
- OR hold an associate level networking qualification such as Cisco CCNA/HP ATA or equivalent and two years’ relevant experience in the area of IT networking, telephony support and maintenance
