Senior Accountant - L/Derry - Permanent
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Accountant to join a well-established organisation in L/Derry on a permanent basis. This senior role will play a key part in overseeing core financial activities across multiple business units, supporting monthly reporting, analysis, and balance sheet control, while also leading and developing a small finance team. Working closely with the Financial Controller, the Senior Accountant will help ensure strong financial governance, accurate reporting, and continuous improvement across the finance function.

What you'll be doing in this role:
- Record ledger entries for multiple business units.
- Review and approve journal entries of other team members to ensure good segregation of duties.
- Conduct analytical reviews to ensure data accuracy and communication.
- Own or share ownerships for standard monthly finance tasks as determined by the financial controller, for example, but not limited to, sales reporting, margin analysis, PPV analysis, fixed asset accounting.
- Lead and develop a team of Assistant Accountants and Finance Assistants, providing guidance and training.
- Train junior staff, promoting technical growth and best practices
- Review and prepare balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with monthly timelines.
- Approve balance sheet reconciliations prepared by others to ensure segregation of duties.
What you'll need for this role:
- Fully qualified Accountant (CCAB Member).
- Min 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Strong background / knowledge of Microsoft computer software particularly advanced Excel skills.
