About the role:
- £20.66 per hour
- Carrickfergus
- Monday to Friday
- 37 hrs per week
- Temporary - Fixed term for or 6 months (possibility of extension)

What you'll be doing in this role:
- Responsible for day to day operational delivery of services to include refuse
collection, commercial waste collection, kerb-side recycling collection,
street cleansing, bulky collection, deliveries, public conveniences and other
cleaning.
- Schedule the ongoing workload of the Service, allocate work, monitor and
report on progress maximising service efficiencies.
- Implement service requirements with an emphasis on the delivery of quality
services within prescribed budgetary constraints.
- Continually review and implement all statutory and legislative requirements
in accordance with good governance and safety requirements.
- Contribute to development of the technical functions of the Waste Service,
including Fleet Management, Waste Collection, recycling and disposal and
liaise with other officers in this regard.
- Work closely with Transport Management to ensure all vehicles and plant are
regularly serviced and defect notes are reported.
What you'll need for this role:
- Applicants must be qualified to a minimum of degree level in a relevant discipline such as Management Practice or Environmental Service.
- 2 years experience in the Management of an Operational Service delivering successful outcomes (4 years if you do not have the academic requirement)
- Operation supervision in a waste environment
- An understanding of the main issues and developments impacting on service delivery within the service portfolio
- An understanding of the workings of local government and the wider environment and political context in which it operates.
- A full current driving licence valid in the UK and access to a vehicle OR have access to a form of transport that enables you to carry out the duties of the post
