Technical Operator (FMCG) - Ballymena
A leading manufacturer in Ballymena is seeking an experienced Technical Operator to join its growing production team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded professional to take ownership of production line performance, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency in a fast-paced FMCG environment.
About the role:
- £13.75 - £15.25 per hour (+15% shift allowance)
- 36 - 48 hours a week
- 2 days on, 2 nights on, 4 nights off shift pattern

What you'll be doing in this role:
- Set up and operate sleever machinery accurately and efficiently.
- Monitor performance and resolve issues promptly to reduce downtime.
- Conduct regular quality and safety checks, reporting any non-conformance.
- Support the Lead Technical Operator in managing and directing the team.
- Investigate faults, identify root causes, and sustain improvements.
- Maintain accurate production and quality documentation.
- Drive performance to achieve 100% CTP and improve OEE to 70%.
- Minimise waste and ensure shutdowns are completed as scheduled.
- Maintain excellent standards of housekeeping, hygiene, and safety.
What you'll need for this role:
- 1–2 years’ experience operating sleever or labelling machinery, or mechanical/electrical trade background.
- Proven experience in mechanical fault-finding and equipment maintenance.
- Experience in high-speed manufacturing or FMCG environments.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Confident, proactive, and capable of leading by example.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work to regulatory and customer standards.
