The Northern Ireland Medical and Dental Training Agency (NIMDTA) is an Arm’s Length Body sponsored by the Department of Health (DoH) to train postgraduate medical and dental professionals for Northern Ireland. NIMDTA seeks to serve the government, public and patients of Northern Ireland by providing specialist advice, listening to local needs and having the agility to respond to regional and national requirements. NIMDTA commissions, promotes and oversees postgraduate medical and dental education and training throughout Northern Ireland. NIMDTA endeavours to attract and appoint individuals of the highest calibre to recognised training posts and programmes. NIMDTA encourages Doctors & Dentists in Training to train and remain in Northern Ireland so that Health and Social Care has a highly competent medical and dental workforce with the essential skills to meet the changing needs of its population. NIMDTA performs a range of activities to deliver high quality postgraduate medical and dental education and training to Doctors and Dentists across the region.
About the role:
- £12.21 per hour
- Monday to Friday
- Hours of Work: 37.5 hours a week, 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Thursday, Friday 8.30 am to 4.30 pm (office based)

What you'll be doing in this role:
- Contribute to and support the effective operation of the administrative
functions in the General Practice (GP) Department by contributing to the operational
activities of the GP team.
- Work primarily within the GP Specialty Training team providing
administrative support in relation to key areas of work such as GP Recruitment and GP
Trainee assessment processes.
- Deal with a variety of
queries from key stakeholders and provide appropriate advice.
- Input information accurately into a variety of databases
and keep electronic records up to date.
- Support the GP Executive Officer and other members of the GP Team
with key activities to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of administration in the
department.
- Be responsible to the GP Training Co-Ordinator.
What you'll need for this role:
- Five GCSE’s (including GCSE English Language
and GCSE Maths, Grades A* - C)
- OR equivalent
qualification to demonstrate literacy and numeracy

OR Higher Qualification
- OR 18 months relevant experience*
- Evidence of one year’s experience working with
Microsoft Office or similar.
- Relevant experience is defined as working in a
business environment undertaking administrative
support.
- Please note for the purposes of this block

- Hold a current full driving licence which is
valid for use in the UK and have access to a car
