Pre-Development Case Manager- NI Water - Belfast
Reporting to the Senior Infrastructure Planner; the Pre-Development Case Manager will be part of a team analysing and managing Statutory Consultee responses to Planning Authorities, Pre-Development Enquiries and completion of Property Certificates. They will be responsible for ensuring NI Water compliance with environmental requirements in accordance with relevant legislation, whilst supporting economic growth and development, taking account of current capacity constraints, to ensure NI Water is protected in complying with its environmental and legislative responsibilities.

About the role:
- £30,634 per annum
- Location: Westland House, Belfast
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week
- Duration: Temporary up to 6 months

Key responsibilities:
- Assessment and response to all applications, taking account of current capacity constraints, to ensure NI Water is protected in complying with its environmental and legislative responsibilities.
- Liaise with Production Lines Asset Performance, Operations and Asset Delivery Teams to inform responses to planning decisions and PDEs
- Undertake Capacity (Water & Wastewater infrastructure and treatment) and Odour assessments using a range of Business Tools to inform planning decisions and PDE responses.
- Working as part of a team to achieve legislative and regulatory compliance, as well as statutory SLA (21 days) targets for single, multi-unit (large development) and strategic Planning Consultation Responses using available tools, digital technologies in support of their technical expertise to provide clearly articulated responses and recommendations using an evidence based approach.
- Apply NI Water planning conditions to Planning Consultations as required, based on engineering judgement, NI Water legislation, policy, processes, and knowledge of planning legislation and regulations.
- Analysing of single and multi-unit Pre-development enquiries (PDE) using available tools and digital technologies in support of their technical expertise to provide clearly articulated responses and recommendations using an evidence based approach and in compliance with current statutory regulations and legislation.
- Compile, manage and issue PDE responses to customers in accordance with SLA (28 days).
Criteria:
- Have a 3rd level qualification e.g. HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent in a relevant field and a minimum of 1 years’ experience in dealing with planning applications or 1 years’ relevant experience in operations, asset management, engineering delivery or construction industry to include knowledge of design and construction of sewers and water mains.
- OR minimum of 2 years’ experience in the civil engineering or construction industry within operations, asset management or engineering delivery with a working knowledge of design and construction of sewers and water mains or 2 years’ experience in dealing with planning applications.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with experience of dealing with customers/developers.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office applications including Word and Excel.
- As this post requires you to travel on official duty throughout Northern Ireland, you must have access to a form of transport which will enable you to fulfil your responsibilities. This is an operational requirement and is essential to meet business needs.
