About the role:
- £12.85 p/hour plus 17.25% allowance = £15.06 p/hour
- Based in Crumlin Recycling Centre
- 37hrs per week (including weekends)
- Public Sector
- Up to 3 months initially
- Application closing date is Friday 10th January 2025
Your main focus will be to assist in the collection of waste (residual & recyclable waste/resource) from the kerbside, street cleansing, and Household Recycling Centre. Duties will include:
- Daily reporting to the vehicle driver
- Street Cleansing duties, cleanse footpaths, gutters, collection of litter and other items in public areas.
- Emptying of litter bins and waste receptacles, weeding of footpaths and gutters, cleaning of street furniture, removal of fly-tipped and fly-posted materials, and any other cleansing or emergency works.
- Collection of bulky domestic items, heavy garden waste, and accumulations of waste resulting from illegally dumped materials.
Criteria:
- Minimum of 6 months previous relevant work experience in a waste environment
- Flexible approach, Good organisational and time management skills , Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Computer literate (to use TMS for holidays/GPS)
- Working knowledge of health and safety procedures including manual handling and assisting driver whilst reversing.
- Knowledge of waste collection/disposal and recycling issues and Traffic management
